i-gel Supraglottic Airway - Intersurgical (ISG)
Introducing the i-gel airway - a novel and innovative supraglottic airway management device.
Made of a medical grade thermoplastic elastomer, a soft, gel-like and transparent material, it is designed to create a non-inflatable anatomical seal of the pharyngeal, laryngeal and perilaryngeal structures whilst avoiding compression trauma. The i-gel is a truly anatomical device achieving a mirrored impression.

A supraglottic airway without an inflatable cuff has several potential advantages including:
- easier insertion,
- minimal risk of tissue compression
- and stability after insertion (i.e. no position change with cuff inflation).
Overall reduce trauma and increased patient comfort.
Other features include:
- The buccal cavity stabiliser: providing good vertical stability upon insertion.
- A standard airway and a separate gastric channel.
- A firmer tube section: allows the device to be inserted by grasping the proximal end of the i-gel and helps to glide the leading edge against the hard palate into the pharynx. Therefore it is not necessary to insert fingers into the mouth of the patient for full insertion.
- An integrated gastric channel is provided for the suction of gastric contents or to allow the passage of a nasogastric tube to empty the stomach.
- Available in 3 sizes with their unique colour code ‘cage’ casing.
- Latex free
- Single patient use device.
- Packaged Sterile with peel packaging.
